Center gauges, often referred to as fishtail gauges because of their fish-like shape, feature a pointed angle with a fluked tail end that mirrors the same angle. Made from durable steel, these gauges are typically marked with graduations, sizes, or conversions along one or more edges. Ideal for precision tasks, they are widely used for hand-grinding threading tool bits on bench grinders and in conjunction with tool and cutter grinders. Additionally, they serve to align tools perpendicular to the workpiece once the correct grinding angle is achieved.
