Pedestal-mount gear pumps feature an exposed drive shaft, ideal for motor coupling via belt or pulley, and are not suited for direct motor drive. Gear pump heads are engineered for direct drive by a motor with a matching horsepower (HP) rating and frame, and they do not come with a motor included.
